Getting a reasonable haircut done at home felt like an achievement with my puppy. She usually objects to anyone trimming her coat and becomes anxious during grooming, so I wasn't sure how this would go. I'm really pleased with this vacuum kit after trying it with her. She was uncertain about the clippers initially. However, they were much quieter than I expected, and after a short while she relaxed enough for me to carry on. Compared with the other equipment I've tried, that lower sound level made a noticeable difference in how comfortable she became. I also appreciated the way the vacuum collected fur throughout the trim. Instead of finding hair scattered around afterward, I had much less to clear up. It made the end of the session easier as well as keeping loose strands from spreading through the space. One thing that helped was applying the supplied oil to the clipper before starting. Lubricating it made the blades move more smoothly, and I found trimming easier as a result. That's a step I would remember each time. For someone maintaining their dog's coat at home, I would recommend this set. The low noise, useful accessories, straightforward cleanup, and convenience all worked well for us, particularly with a puppy who normally finds grooming difficult.

The kit feels solidly built and offers good quality for the price. I found it straightforward to operate, and the brush is comfortable to hold while removing loose fur effectively. What surprised me most was how quiet it sounded. My dog fears vacuums, so I had worried about the noise. This was much quieter than I'd imagined, which really impressed me.

Unfortunately, the nail tool was the feature that made me choose it, and it has barely any power. It feels as though spinning sandpaper on a stick by hand would achieve more. I'm happy with the rest of the equipment, but I wouldn't purchase this set specifically for that attachment.

With two beagles losing hair throughout the year, this kit has been a useful addition at home. One accepted it immediately. It covers a useful range of grooming tasks. Switching on the main unit powers both the vacuum and the blades. Another button changes the speed. In my demonstration, I used level one to keep the sound down. I've bought a grooming table for our three dogs because that makes trimming them easier than trying to manage it elsewhere. There are a few handling drawbacks. The hose isn't as flexible as I'd like, and it twisted enough that I had to pause and straighten it before carrying on. There is also no separate switch on the handheld clipper. To stop the blades before putting it down, you have to turn off the vacuum at the base. On the positive side, the handpiece is light, so its weight doesn't tire my wrist or hand. Positioning the base nearby matters, though. If it sits on the floor too far from where you're working, the hose length limits how freely you can move the clipper. Keeping the vacuum close gives you more room to reach the areas that need trimming.

I own another vacuum grooming set that works well, so I was able to compare the two within a few days of each other. After using both, this is the one I would choose. Several practical differences add up, starting with the accessories. This set includes extra tools my dogs need, along with cleanup attachments missing from the other one. When the job is done, the hose wraps around the body and fastens there for storage. I wound the power cord around it as well. These are small conveniences, but together they make the equipment easier to put away and find ready for the next trim. My shih-poo had a few small tangles I hadn't spotted before we began. Working patiently through a little hair at a time got us past them. It reminded me of cutting through an especially thick patch of lawn: trying to push straight through wasn't the answer. We managed that trim without switching to scissors. Her face requires more precise work than the full-size clippers comfortably allow. She has already lost one eye, so I am particularly cautious around the remaining one. The smaller detail trimmer suited the area around her eye and along her snout, as well as the fur between her paw pads. That small head belongs to the battery-powered nail-grinder unit. The other grooming attachments connect to the main vacuum. Compared with my other model, this hose bends more easily and doesn't twist up as often when I'm changing position to reach different areas. Even so, I would like a connection that swivels all the way around. I made the same suggestion about my previous kit. This hose permits a little movement from side to side, but a full 360-degree swivel at one end, ideally beside the clipper, would be more helpful. I hope the manufacturer considers that improvement. I found all the tools straightforward to handle. Clipping felt easier and smoother than using conventional clippers because the suction lifts the hair toward the blades. I stayed on the lowest vacuum setting throughout. It was fairly quiet, but quietness wasn't my main reason for choosing it: that level already provided all the suction I needed. My girl had become very fluffy, so there was plenty to remove. The clipper worked through it well, and she tolerated the session without a problem. I wouldn't say she enjoyed it. She dislikes being groomed with anything, which is how her coat had become so long in the first place. Still, I was impressed enough to want to tell several friends about the set. Professional grooming is expensive where I am, and this entire package cost less than one appointment. I also worry about somebody tugging at her hair because she is very sensitive to it. Doing her grooming myself at home suits me better. My dogs are companions rather than show dogs, so a less-than-perfect home haircut doesn't upset either of us. I can live with the occasional uneven bit, and I expect the process to become easier as I get more practice. She doesn't normally shed, but her bigger trims, about three times a year, used to cover me in extremely fine hair. Some strands are almost invisible, yet they would end up on my clothes and skin and in my nose, mouth, and eyes. Running the suction at the same time as the blades made an enormous difference during this trim. Very little fur landed on me. I even checked my clothing afterward with a pet-hair mitt to see what it collected, and there was only a tiny amount. That was probably the most striking part of the whole comparison for me. Between the tidier finish, secure combs, useful detail trimmer, and convenient storage, I am very pleased with this purchase.

Neither issue changed how it performed once assembled, but unpacking could certainly have been easier. The electric clippers coped well with thick fur. Brushing my golden retriever for about twenty minutes filled the cup. On that first session, pressing the brush-release button kept dropping a clump of fur onto the floor. Each time, I had to go back and vacuum it up. The motor is quiet, but even the strongest setting struggles with the volume of hair my dog sheds. It does collect hair; I just need more power in this household. I also tested the clippers and stopped quickly because they seemed to tug at his coat. The blade didn't feel sharp enough for his particular hair, and I wasn't comfortable continuing. The unit looks nice, has a fairly compact shape, and includes attachments for most tasks. I'll still use the vacuum since its performance is acceptable, but it hasn't replaced my preference for the other brand. Better suction and a cutting head that handled my dog's coat would make a meaningful difference for me.

I chose this mainly for the vacuum brush. My short-haired shepherd mix sheds heavily all year, enjoys brushing, and isn't worried by vacuums, so it seemed a good match. He accepted the lowest setting without any trouble. That setting is also the quietest; the top speed makes quite a bit of noise. My other dog is frightened of vacuums and wouldn't accept this one. The equipment feels well made, the accessories suit a large dog, and I felt comfortable using them. Unfortunately, the brush didn't reach the undercoat I wanted to remove. I ended up taking out my usual brush and using the vacuum to collect the hair afterward. That limitation is why I took off a star. A storage case would also help keep the pieces organized. The price seems reasonable, though. I can see it being very useful for a dog that needs regular trimming, even if the brush wasn't right for the job I bought it for.

Getting this kit assembled and running was easy straight out of the package. Home grooming feels much more manageable with it, and I expect it to save me hundreds in appointment costs over time. My concern is the clipper blade. It's the tool I use most, and blades can lose their edge with time. I'd have appreciated several replacement blades in the box.

The whole set cost less than one visit. If it actually worked, the savings would be considerable. Everything needed arrived together. Assembly was straightforward, although I spent a while getting familiar with using it. My giant was uncertain at first, then warmed to it surprisingly quickly. Now he is more comfortable, I keep the money I previously spent on appointments, and he is willing to join me in the car again. I'd give the quality full marks. A complete set of tools and simple setup are real strengths. My reservation is that the act of grooming still takes practice, even when the equipment is easy to operate. Get comfortable with the controls before beginning on your dog. Overall, I'm delighted. For us, doing the grooming at home starts saving money quickly, and he seems much happier clean and groomed than tangled and itchy.
